Weekly Update 10-17
Greetings, animal lovers! Below is a summary of each of the latest events and happenings at PAWS to get you up to speed.
PROMOTIONS THIS MONTH
- October is Adopt a Shelter Dog Month and Pitbull Awareness Month– $75 adoption fee on all dogs through the end of October! View our cute pups!
Events this Week
- Saturday October 22nd – Paws will be attending the East Pierre Garden Center Fall Festival!
OUR SHELTER IS OVERFLOWING!
We’ve taken in a lot of new dogs this month. We also have a total of 45 cats! Although we are happy to be able to provide animals with a temporary home, this means that we need your help even more. Here are a few ways you can help:
- Check our open hours and stop by to view our adorable animals.
- Spread the word – tell family and friends, share our Facebook posts.
- Become a Member – more members means more advocates for our animals! See below for the membership drive prize details.
- Volunteer and visit – our animals always need attention. The more pets we have, the less time we get to devote to each one. Bonus: you get a great deal of personal fulfillment. Animals are known to improve your mood and health.
- Donate – consider monthly recurring donations, sponsor a shelter pet, donate online, or check our wish list for items we need. Every little helps!
MEMBERSHIP DRIVE – WIN A PRIZE!
Remember to sign up for membership, renew your membership, or get someone else to sign up for membership by the end of the year. Your name will go into a drawing for a gas grill. Download a Membership Registration Form.
Catio Update
As you can see by the picture Jenna took yesterday, the Catio is coming along nicely. Jim must live out there as he is always working on it when we go out to the shelter. The cats seem to enjoy supervising him through the windows. They are also eagerly awaiting the chance to use it! Remember, some of our cats have not been outside for seven years.
THANK YOU to our generous donors. We have raised $2,347 of the $10,000 we need. We have a ways to go but the amount has doubled from what we reported ($1,112) on October 11, 2016. This is so exciting! Donate today to help.
