About Tess
AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION: 28 Feb. 2011
TESS is a female Border Collie / Australian Shepherd mix puppy. She has mostly black fur, with a full white ruff, white tip on her tail, and white on her legs, chest, and tummy. Her fur is a little bit longer than her four siblings. Her approximate date of birth is 28 Dec. 2010. Her current weight at 5 1/2 weeks of age is 6 1/2 lbs. Tess is from a litter of five puppies that have been hand raised from five days of age. Tess and her siblings have been raised in the kitchen, and have used to much stimulus from the beginning, including household sounds, kitties, large dogs, and coming and goings of various foster family members. Tess is quite used to being handled, however remains the "squirmiest" pup - seems she prefers being busy on her own! She does like her little tummy being petted though!! She loves to play with her siblings, and is just starting to play with some puppy toys. She is learning bite inhibition, how to be a dog, and finding her place in her "pack" along with her litter mates. She loves the sounds of her food going into the puppy pans, and has just begun eating dry puppy chow, and drinking water from a bowl. She sleeps with her litter mates in a crate, and is used to fuzzy blankets and stuffed animals keeping her company as well. She is usually second in line to want back into her crate after a playtime on the kitchen floor, and will cry until the crate door is opened and she can hurry in. She is a very loving puppy, a very pretty little girl, happy and busy doing what puppies should be doing!! She will soon be ready for a loving family to invite her "home"!
