About Oliver

Oliver was purchased 18 months ago at a "reputable" pet store as a Teddy Bear. All seemed right when he was a tiny puppy. As he grew up, things definitely weren't right. He is most likely from a very "UNreputable" puppy mill, inbred, and definitely not purebred. Given his unfortunate genetic start in life, Ollie has a few issues. He has a severe overbite, crooked little elbows, and a little bit of anxiety. Ollie is an adorable little fella and I'm sure he would be scooped up in a heart beat if I listed him as a designer little perfect dog. But I'm not going to sugar-coat him. That would lead to unsuccessful adoption for both Ollie and the family. Now, don't get me wrong, he's got some great qualities too! He gets along with cats, rides well in the car, walks great on a leash, sleeps through the night, and can swim. He does great at the groomers! Ollie quickly established himself as the Alpha in the house which as led to some mis-behaving. He listens better to the male of the house, not the females, which is leading to an unsuccessful dog/family relationship. However, when I met him and he tried to tell me he was in charge, I quickly established my dominance, let him know that I was not letting him get away with any of that nonsense and we quickly became friends and he behaved very well for me. Ollie's perfect new home: * where he can relinquish his need to be the boss to a strong dominant owner and just be a dog * where he can get at least a half mile walk 2 times per day * where someone is home for at least part of the day as he gets lonely
