Avery Truax (Aussie) and Sam Manning (German Short-Hair Pointer) recently appeared in front of the Pierre City Commission to appeal for funding as part of the 2017 Pierre City budget. President Manning did a presentation with the support of Vice President Melita Hauge, Treasurer Betty Truax, Board Member David Voeltz, and Kyle Manning.

We are happy to announce that PAWS Animal Rescue has been awarded $3,000, which will be available after the first of the year. We plan to purchase sound absorption panels for the dog area.

Both Avery and Sam came through the Pierre pound and adopted their respective owners (Betty Truax and Brenda & Kyle Manning). They were a hit at the meeting and drew a lot of attention. President Manning brought out the bling with her “Big Bucks Necklace”, which set the tone for an informative but fun presentation.
